Amman, 7 May 2008 - The first in the Arab region at a governorate’s level, the release of the Millennium Development Goals Report for Aqaba next Sunday

Within the framework of the project “Preparation of a Millennium Development Goal (MDG) Report for the Governorate of Aqaba in Support of the Formulation of a Sustainable Human Development Strategy and Implementation Plan”, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority will launch the Millennium Development Goals Report for Aqaba next Sunday, 11 May.

Building on the recently-released UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Synthesis Report, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) 2007/2008 Human Development Report (HDR), entitled Fighting climate change: Human solidarity in a divided world, was presented to the UN Climate Change Conference to set out a pathway for climate change negotiations in Bali, Indonesia, and stresses that a narrow ten-year window of opportunity remains to put it into practice.
