 Friday, 23 October 2009 - The Global Compact Local Network in Jordan supported by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) hosted a one-day training session on October 22nd on the implementation of CSR principles and Communication on Progress report. The event, which took place yesterday, aimed at supporting the members to implement the 10 Global Compact principles on human rights, labor rights, environment and anti-corruption in their organizations and to learn how to report on their progress.  As part of the training, Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, Director of Operations Support at Nuqul Group, shared the experience and interest of his company to endorse CSR principles. it is cancelled he won’t come, followed by Matthias Strausberg, a trainer from the UN Global Compact Office in NY, who….The UN Global Compact local network (GCLN) was first launched in Jordan in October 2007 in response to the country’s growing interest to promote greater involvement of the private sector in development and raise awareness of the role of corporate social responsibility in business activities.  UNDP in cooperation with the Government of Jordan has continued to expand the GCLN throughout 2008 by building partnerships with the private sector, civil society and NGO’s in order to provide collaborative solutions to the most fundamental challenges facing both business and society. Today 39 Jordanian businesses operating in different sectors are committed to align their operations and strategies with the ten universally accepted Global Compact principles in the areas of human rights, labor rights, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
