DEVELOPING POLICY-ORIENTED RESEARCH GUIDELINES, PROCEDURES, AND TOOLS TO SUPPORT IMPLEMENTING RIO CONVENTIONS IN JORDAN
Consulting companies as well as research and academic institutions are welcome to bid for this consultancy. Each bidding organization (or consortium) should formulate a strong core team of specialists with a highly experienced specialist as the consultancy team leader. It is envisaged that the team formulated will have the following minimum members:
The Team Leader is expected to have a PhD in fields of direct relevance to the present assignment (such as but not limited to environmental science/engineering or environmental management or environmental/ecological research, with emphasis on climate change and/or biodiversity and/or land degradation/combating desertification or any related field); a minimum of 15 years of proven experience in the environmental/ecological research fields with emphasis on single or multiple discipline(s) of climate change and/or biodiversity and/or land degradation/combating desertification or similar environmental synergy fields; proven knowledge of Global Environmental Conventions with high emphasis on Rio Conventions; proven expertise in the development of national environmental policies and strategies; a thorough understanding and experience in policy-oriented research and/or linkages between research and policy development and /or scientific findings to inform decision makers.
